EU | "Freedom and security of movement of people and goods along the corridor must be urgently restored."

The Rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on monitoring Azerbaijan and Armenia made a joint statement that they are "deeply concerned about the violation of freedom of movement in the Lachin corridor, which creates significant difficulties for the population." Speakers on Azerbaijan, Ian Liddell-Granger (Great Britain) and Liz Kristoffersen (Norway), as well as speakers on Armenia Kimmo Kiljunen (Finland) and Boriana Ober (Sweden) stated that "freedom and security of movement of people and goods along the corridor must be urgently restored."
The PACE Monitoring Committee discussed the current situation and diplomatic efforts to achieve long-term peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan with the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar and the French Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Brice Rokfey. They confirmed their readiness "to provide all necessary political support, including by conducting a fact-finding mission in the region."
